Privacy
What we collect. If you use the “Share Your Story” form, we receive the name, email address, story text, photos and links you choose to send. If you email us, we receive your email address and message. Like most websites, our host and WordPress may log basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and spam protection.
How we use it. We use your details only to review your submission, to contact you about it, and to credit you if it is published (using the name you give). Your email address is never published, sold or shared for advertising.
Spam protection and embeds. The form uses spam-protection tools and may load a captcha service. Embedded videos (such as YouTube) may set their own cookies when you play them.
Your choices. You can ask us to remove a published submission or delete your details at any time by emailing paranormaldepartment1@gmail.com.
Sighting Map locations. If you add a pin to the Sighting Map, the location is shown publicly, rounded to about 1 km, together with your story once it is approved.
Map services. The Sighting Map loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap and its Leaflet code from unpkg, and place search uses OpenStreetMap Nominatim, so those services can see the IP address of visitors who use the map.
Comments. If you leave a verification note on a sighting, we store the name, email address and IP address you comment with. Your email address is never shown publicly.
