Seen a ghost? Stayed somewhere that was not quite empty? Met something in the woods that you cannot explain? Pin it. Every reader story on this map is read and approved by a real person, and every pin comes with the story, the photos and any video the witness shared — so the rest of us can look it over, compare notes, and try to work out what really happened. To get things started we have also added some of the best-known haunted places and creature legends, each marked Historical case. Type your ZIP code below to see what has been reported near you.
The Paranormal Map
We centre the map on your ZIP code and list the closest places, up to 5 within 250 miles. Your ZIP code is looked up in a public list and is not saved or sent to us.

Ghost / Haunting Cryptid — a creature nobody has proven Other mystery Historical case a well-known case added by the Department (a faint ring around the pin). Status: Unverified = a claim nobody has checked yet · Corroborated = other people or evidence back it up · Explained = identified as something ordinary.
Add Your Story
- Drop your pin. Search for a nearby town (or tap “Use my approximate location”), then click or tap the map where it happened. Drag the pin to adjust. Please pin the area or the public landmark, not a private home.
- Tell the story. Put the town or place name in the title (for example “Footsteps in the old mill — Lowell, MA”). In the story, give the date and time, who was there, what you saw or heard, how long it lasted, and what ordinary explanations you already ruled out.
- Add proof. Upload photos (JPG or PNG), and paste a video link (YouTube, TikTok, Vimeo or Google Drive “anyone with the link”) in the video field.
- Send it. We read every submission before it goes public. It usually takes a few days. Your email is never shown.
No pin yet. Click the map where it happened.
Only send things you made or have permission to share. No full names, addresses, phone numbers or faces of other people (especially children) without their OK. By submitting you give Paranormal Department and Space Anomaly Network permission to publish your story on this site and our social channels with credit to the name you give us. See Privacy & Terms.
Trouble with the form or the map? Email your story (with the town or place) to paranormaldepartment1@gmail.com and we will add it for you.
How Verification Works
Open a pin
Click any pin, then “Read the story.” You will see the full story, the photos and the video.
Add a verification note
Were you there that night? Is there a history, a draft, an animal or a hoax that explains it? Leave a note at the bottom of the story. Links to sources are welcome.
We review & label
Notes are read by a person before they appear. When a case has solid backing, or a clear ordinary explanation, we change its label and say why.
Map Rules
- Be honest. If you found a normal explanation, say so — those entries help everyone.
- Be kind. Verification notes should discuss the evidence, not attack the witness.
- Do not post anyone’s home address, license plate, phone number or face. We blur locations and may edit or remove anything that exposes someone. Private homes are not pinned.
- Do not trespass to get a photo, and never go into unsafe or abandoned buildings. Stories that depend on breaking the law may be declined.
- No ads, spam, hate or harassment. We may decline or remove any entry or note.

ZIP code search uses U.S. Census Bureau ZIP Code Tabulation Area centre points (public domain), with Zippopotam.us as a backup for ZIP codes missing from that list; the backup service only sees the ZIP code you type. Pictures on the Historical case stories come from Wikimedia Commons and the Library of Congress; each one is credited under the picture. Loading the map contacts those services, which can see your IP address, as with any embedded map.
